With group stage over we are starting with the playoffs of NC XVI TDM. There were few dropouts from teams like

Belgium,

Ukraine and

Netherlands, which were more or less expected, since they couldn't field 4 players most of the time. Check groups and playoffs pages for further info.

Captains need to schedule first round of playoff matches by 14:00 CDT, 18 March 2013 (Monday), otherwise they 're gonna get forced.

Besides prizes(tokens) for 1st and 2nd place winners of the cup, we will have One Month Pro and One Month Premium tokens for 1st and 2nd place of CBooky winners as well. So make sure to place your bets on time!

Well the second event is upon us for the PQL Duel Series and Hektik is the chosen map. The Event is Tuesday at, 19:00 CDT, 19 March 2013. This is a points based system with the top eight players playing in a final match event which will show case the five maps. We will host a live stream of all the events starting at 8:00pm EST which will run for approximately three hours, all players who sign up for this event must be able to attend on the day of the event.

Today is the day! After a couple of months of hardcore development a new release is coming out. The objective of the release was to give the community what it was asking for and stabilize the platform as a first step to get out of beta. We think we achieved at least a first step towards this objective and are eagerly looking forward to your feedback.

FACEIT Monthly Ladders
After hearing your requests for additional features around pick up games (“Quick Matches”) we decided to introduce a monthly ladder. In order to rank in the ladder you need to play Pick up matches on FACEIT. Points will be given out after each match depending on your level, the level of your opponent and the outstanding bonus pool.

This feature will open on Thursday 14 March at 13:00 CDT. Initially ladder games will be limited to the time frame between 13:00 CDT and 19:00 CDT everyday. This timeframe will increase depending on the usage levels we’ll record and feedback from the community.

At the end of each month the top players of the ladder will win prizes and the ladder rankings will be reset to create a new challenge in the month to come.

Please note that as part of this change we had to drop the Series tournaments. All players that were currently in series tournaments will see their money credited to their accounts and won’t be able to access these tournaments anymore.

European Quake League 16 coming up (5 comments)

The European Quake League (EQL) is now taking sign ups for the 16th edition of the league. EQL is a QuakeWorld team deathmatch 4on4 league which has been around since 2005, featuring all the top teams in the QuakeWorld scene. The last EQL season ended in spring 2012 and thus there has been a void for all 4on4 players during the fall, up until now that is. The signup process started yesterday and ends at the 31st of March. The league will then start at the 1st of April.

The games will be battled out on the traditional maps DM2, DM3 and E1M2. The teams will as usual be split up into divisions divided by skill and anyone is allowed to sign up to take part of the action. For players without a team, the QuakeWorld.nu transfers forum is recommended to post one's resume and hope to get lucky!

My entry for the contest, I think I pretty much managed to fulfill all their requirements, especially the whole grandiose/epic music aspect with a special orchestral edit of the famous Rocky theme.
I thought everyone deserved to witness such a fine piece of work, enjoy!
