Hello QuakeWorld lovers!

Wether you're bored by running on the same maps for 16 years, new to QuakeWorld and willing to try some custom maps, or just wanting to have some fun, we've got what you need!
Even if people still consider Aerowalk and Ztndm3 as Kenya maps, here we'll play real new (or old but not played much) stuff. No remake or anything like that.
So we're planning a one day duel tournament to start this kenya maps stuff.
The tourney will take place on the 24th of February, starting around 14:00 CET (depending on how much signup we get) and hopefully ending in the night.

It's one day, without divs or group stages or anything, to see how smooth it runs, the format may change later.
This sunday will see these nice maps played: Bravado, Subterfuge, Vaporize, Skull and Ztndm6.

You can also get all pumped with an hollywoodian trailer.

Another week of FACEIT Daily Cups starting today!

From Monday till Thursday we will be hosting cups for various Levels. Each cup starts at 14:30 CDT and check-ins open at 13:30 CDT.

Monday will see an open Level 4 cup, with a $10 prize. Tuesday and Wednesday will have the Level 6 and Level 8 cup respectively, with a prize of $25 and $1 buy-in. Finally, the Level 10 cup with a $40 prize and $2 buy-in will take place.


The stream will go live with United Kingdom Daniel "ddk" Kapadia and guest commentator and community figure Switzerland Memento_Mori at 14:30 CDT. Tune in to FACEIT TV!

Upcoming Sunday we will see the second cup of the FACEIT Quake Live Winter Season 2013: Sunday Cup #18. The first cup for the Winter Season was won by dem0n, who bagged 22 points in the rankings. Second place went to matr0x, who took 14 points.

The cup will kick off at 09:00 CDT and check-ins open an hour before that, at 08:00 CDT. You can currently already sign-up. Every cup will have cash prizes, and next to that players will earn point. At the end of the season (31 March) the top eight will head into a $500 Championship Finale.

FACEIT TV will go live at 09:30 CDT, with your host United Kingdom Daniel "ddk" Kapadia. He will be joined by Italian Stallion Italy Alessandro "stermy" Avallone!

It has been almost two weeks since successful draft tournament #2, with more than 100 players attending (qlstats.info). This made us think about another tournament already, which will be happening on Sunday 17th of February. But there are matters which need to be discussed and we would like to know your opinion about them.

We can all agree that having BO1 in the first round is unfair towards some teams, so we would like to push the signups time from previous 11:00 CDT to 10:00 CDT, and start the tournament one hour earlier (11:00 CDT) and make sure that all the games are played as BO3. Feel free to comment about the earlier start.

Another thing to discuss is the maplist. We were pretty happy with the previous maplist (Dreadful Place, Hidden Fortress, Limbus, Purgatory, Terminatria), but unfortunatelly the last map on the list hasn't been played a single time. That's why we would like you to vote in the comments on the 5th map in the maplist. Your vote can either go to Grim Dungeons, Intervention or Terminatria.

Dear fans of Quake Live! Starting from next Monday, 125 FPS stops organising the 125 FPS Daily Cup event, launching the brand new 125FPS Monthly League instead. Don't worry about the change of pace - there will be none, and the predicted set of games per month is set to increase. The league will be held on a monthly basis, with an exciting new format to boot!


The qualification stages started, this week every day the registration starts at 16:30 CET and the cup starts at 17:30 CET.

Now that Own3d is rumored to go down, a few things needed to be done. First, me and Lashknife sat together to try and save as many vods we could. We currently have 816 VODs on Own3d, but all VODs predating 1/1/2011 don't load anymore due to problems at Own3d. This results in a loss of about 600 VOD's. The remaining 200 have been safely reuploaded to Youtube. You can find them at www.youtube.com/groundzerovods.

The other issue was tv.holysh1t.net: we didn't really look at it in a way we used to. I use the channel from time to time to stream something for a Dutch site or mostly what I feel like streaming, and once in a while I throw some Quake Live into the mix. Due to problems with Windows 8 and QL, I am unable to stream more Quake Live until Id Software does something about the performance. I don't have the option to revert to Windows 7. Regardless, tv.holysh1t.net has been put to rest and in it's place will be Ground-Zero TV.

A small update in this area is that I have bought a capcard yesterday and as soon as it's arrived I will be able to play/spec QL on my laptop and capture it with my PC. I'd say CTF needs some love, so I will try to focus on the pickups and any tournaments around. Please tell me where and when something of interest is being played.

Th GZTV project started over 2 years ago to rid ourselves of the bad sounding name that was "holy shit". During this project life got in the way (job offerings, kids, marriages) and all but 1 had left Holysh1t. Now I am opening Ground-Zero.TV, a platform that I hope to build on and that will feature Quake Live primarily from my side, but not limited to. I am attracting some casters from other games. For now, I have put up a placeholder page, and me and Lashknife are working on a site. For those who didn't know yet, I can be "booked" (freely) and I will gladly convert demos into VODs and put them on our Youtube channel.

This should bring you up to speed about what has been going on lately with Holysh1t. I am still looking for help! I have a fulltime job, a household, any help is welcome: to maintain holysh1t.net, post news, streamers, casters for GZTV, you are all welcome for a try-out.
