Goodnews everyone, according to Germany Der Spiegel, you can finally buy and play Quake (World) in Germany. After 15 years the Germans and their watch dog ''Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien'' decided that Quake shouldn't be on the ban list because they don't find the game realistic anymore. Which is pretty reasonable after 15 years.

Realistic Commodore 64 games such as Rambo and River Raid are still on the ban list.

After a very successful DreamHack Winter 2011, at least from my point of view, with so much awesome quake action and very good coverage thanks to the very hard work from the Level Up TV crew with United Kingdom Disrepute and United Kingdom nVc doing most of the casting and keeping you guys updated.

With this being said, the demos are now on the web! All demos (well, most...), both TDM and Duel can be found
on Trance's FTP.

An alternative mirror will be added soon enough!

Update: During the event when the LAN server broke down (hardware failure), we managed to get our server-guy together with id Software to debug the Swedish Quake Live servers and they sorted out the lag issues that have been occurring on the servers.

Update2: We now have an alternative (French) host with demos sorted. Demos links were added on the DHW11 coverage post for all matches.

Update3: Dreamhack.se host live (with .rar)

"Just Play" Painkiller Duel Cup is targeted for North American players, but is open to anyone who is willing to deal with the ping.

I've really enjoyed Painkiller and never got a chance to play in any duel cups or tournaments. I've recently started hosting a couple of servers and I decided to host a PK duel cup. I know the netcode isn't the best, but for those who are still willing to play, then check out the "Just Play" cup page on tourney.cc.

There is also a free version of Painkiller (mplay only) if you are interested but do not own the full version of the game, all of which is linked on the cup page.


Update: Congrats to Hungary Andy for his impressive win! Andy had 160 ping and still played, was awesome having what is left of the PK community playing. GG to his opponent United States of America Chiefin.

s_volume 1000 I guess. I really hate it about quake that you need to set volume so high. I'm really concerned about my hearing because of it :/

The 111th ZOTAC QL Duel Cup is taking place this Sunday 27th of November. Last week, France strenx earned his 40th ZOTAC after defeating Russia Cooller in 4 maps (map1, map2, map3, map4).

Most of the pros will be coming back from DreamHack Winter 2011, and the cup should be more open than usual!
