World of PADMAN - WoP 1.5 ready for DL (3 comments)

Whats World of PADMAN?

You had to wait a long time, far too long already. But now the time has come, WoP, in version 1.5, is available for download - for Windows and Linux. The Mac users have to wait a little bit longer unfortunately, but, rest assured, we haven't forgotten you!
We had planned to publish WoP 1.5 within this year and had to work on it until the very last second. We didn't even have the the time to advertise our new version the same way we usually do with a new release. This, of course, we are going to rectify in the very near future, so that the servers will fill up soon.

But those of you who are here to enjoy the new version, be warned that you get presented a completely new WoP. Countless things have been revised and partly modified. There is a new game type, new maps, new player models, a new weapon, new powerups and much more. You might be in for some surprises.

We would like to thank all of you for your loyalty over the last few years. We hope that you like the new WoP and that the long wait has paid off a little. We would also like to thank Eileen Heath, who stepped in at the last second to record the last missing sound files.

That's all we want to say for now. Grab the new version and have fun with it

Warming-Up 2011: Instagib FreezeTag Cup (No comments)

2011 will begin very soon, and so, whats about to start the year with a short fun tournament of Instagib FreezeTag.

We will go for a groupstage with 4 teams each group and an single-elimination Playoff. The best two teams of each group will enter the playoffs.

We plan to set the time and roundlimit to 10 and play a best of 5 game.

We use as channel the known #ava-trophy one, which we have used in the past for our well known CA-Trophy.

We plan to play the cup 4v4, if you prior 5v5, just let us know.

Quake done 100% Quickest is a 100% completion speedrun of Quake on Nightmare skill, going through the levels as fast as possible, killing every single monster and finding every single secret in every single map. The speedrun was performed by members of the Quake done Quick team and this movie was put together by Jozsef "j0zzz" Szalontai. This is the sequel to the very popular and outdated 'Quake done 100% Quicker' which was released way back on the 5th of January, 2000. Speedrunning has come a looong way since then!

After Norwegianalized, I quickly started a new project with some of quake players I know the best. My idea originally was to just have me and the Swedish players as we all hang in a channel together after we formed a TDM team a way back. However I decided to include zsx as well.

This is how it turned out after 3'ish months of editing. And A LOT of PC problems. I'm quite happy with how the movie turned out. Huge thanks to the likes of ZeRoQL and Justin for helping me out with things (especially zeroql). Enjoy it!

With the ESL Bundesliga coming in January many ambitious German players are setting up to fight for the next title in the regular cups: The ESL Knockout Series comes up in it's seventh edition with players such as

While the

US boys getting their regular quake live action done within the nationalESL, the european sections of

Germany and

United Kingdom are pretty close to their death as both lost their ESL Pro Series for Quake Live recently.
In Germany the national league called 'ESL Bundesliga' is coming up in January to replace the pro league with about 550 Euro prizemoney. There are many rising stars showing up in the current qualifier for the premier division known as

ESL Amateur Series currently, some of them might have the potential to become the next k1llsen any time soon - or maybe not.

Tonight the participants of the

Amateur Series can fight for the title of the fifth and last EAS Invitational in 2010.

I don't really get why you say that.

SirScoots was trying to take an ambiguous point of view on the matter. As he stated himself he would love to have QL on the program since he has several quakers on his EG-roster. What he said was that he doubted the sense from a business perspective.

Furthermore his comment about lvl^ being low-tier was in referance to the DreamHack stream and only concerning the production value. It was a bunch of dude streaming on-site with a webcam and a couple of mics. Not really a high budget production compared to other streams.

That being said I am also sure he was not complaining about the quality of the end product as lvl^ did a fantastically job.

Don't try to make his statements more negative than they really were if you ask me.

On this past weekend's Live On Three #65, the last one of 2011, I confirmed that id Software is currently talking to Major League Gaming, the World Cyber Games, and ESEA regarding the inclusion of Quake Live in each of the respective leagues for 2011. After the communication breakdown at MLG Dallas, it is confirmed that talks have been initiated from both sides for North America's premier competitive gaming league. There is also much discussion on whether Quake Live fits MLG's business model for the next year, and if they need the game at all to begin with.

We decided to run and hold a quick single elimination Clan Arena competition just before the Christmas and New Years break. Usual players you see in our duel competitions
