We are in the fourth match week with only one more left to be played in the group stage. While in Group A we got two group leaders with 3 wins and 0 losses (4Kings and alpha), Group B has METSU, FLiNE and iM as leaders. Unfortunately NK dropped the cup due to not having enough players interested in ql anymore. Check rankings for full overview.

Anima Gaming League is hosting a Quake 3 Masters cup, a reunion of players old and new that you cheer on every big event. The tournament so far has no grand prize, because it will be a series of fun and gore (oh how we miss the blood!) but we are looking into any donations or sponsors that would like to contribute.

ESL Benelux are glad to announce the autumn cup 2010. If you are looking for some entertainment this autumn, this is the chance for you. We will host autumn cups in almost all of our games. This will take place during the next weeks and provides our popular autumn cup award for the winners. (Note this is only for people who live in the Benelux)

Schedule: The Autumn cups will be started at 01/11/10 and are expected to finish around 12/12/10.

Quakelive cup will be played 1on1 featuring both a group phase and a playoffs bracket. Everyone is allowed to sign up and participate in this league. Sign up is possible until this thursday.

Team Dignitas have announced a Sunday Cup for Quake Live sponsored by Logitech. The cup will be Duel and will be played this Sunday evening starting at 10:00 CDT. The amount of slots start at 32 but can go up to 128 if enough sign-ups are submitted.

The 55th ZOTAC QL Duel Cup will be played this Sunday. As usual it will consist of SE brackets using the bo1 format until the quarter finals. Then the games will be played as bo3 with the exception of the Final being played as bo5. The prize still is 100€ for 1st place!

CPM TDM NATIONS CUP 2010. 4TH WEEK (14 comments)

I apologize for delaying news for such a long time, but on the other hand i want to announce, that we will have three games today, which you will be able to watch using GTV and, maybe, a stream. We are totally not sure about second though, but we will do our best - stay at

#cpm.nations for latest news. You can find exact time for each match under the "Matches of 4th week" spoiler.

Also i added results of a 3rd week matches, which wasn't so great for

Sweden 2 - they are leaving our tournament. After they lost - even count of teams left.This means, that each team plays a match this week. And since it's the last day of the play week, we have one game played already -

BuRussia quite convincingly won against

Russia 2. This victory lets them to take 1st spot after the group stage. And YES we are going to the play-off single elimination stage next week. I want to remind, that only teams with not negative score are going to play-off.
Update: Sadly we weren't able to find any free streamers, so the only way to watch games will be GTV. Also, links for demos of 3rd round are added.

As part of Level Up TV's DreamHack Winter 2010 coverage, this is the first interview of a series that we plan to continue during the event itself. Basically just some 1on1's with the pros, talking about everything and nothing.

Today I sat down with

Romain "dem0n" Leclerq, who happens to live just 500m away from myself. Since he has been quite on fire these past 2 weeks, and given the proximity of his location, he was the ideal candidate to kick this new series off. The interview itself ranges from Quake, his real life persona and future plans to (inevitably) blonds and football :)

ESL Amateur Series Invitational and the ESL Knockout Series it is time to come up with the next seasonal cup: The ESL Fall Cup.

The Kasperskys Quake Live Championships tournament gets better and better. Today 3 new players were invited, to make the lineup even more impressive:

k1llsen. The Grand Final of Kasperskys Quake Live Championship will as usual be played at our very own Dream Arena Extreme. With room for 1100 shouting fans this is something out of the ordinary.

The qualifier will be played on Saturday the 30th of October. Starting with check-in at 06:00 CDT in #Dreamhack.Quake and the qualifier starting at 07:00 CDT. The winning player will receive a Wild Card into the tournament.

IEM5 EC Group Stage announced - Updated2 (161 comments)

The groups of the IEM5 European Championship have just been announced today! For Quakelive, 30 players were split in to 6 groups of 5. All matches will be played as bo3, and each victory will be rewarded with a bonus of $50. After this group stage, the 12 best players will be qualified for the European Championship Finals and get another bonus of $150.

The default date for the Quakelive matches is Wednesday 15:00 CDT and ESL TV should cover the best match of each week on this time.

Update: Since Cny will remain banned from Quakelive, it was decided to remove him from the tournament. His slot will be handed to the winner of a match between the 2 players who finished at 4th rank during the last chance qualifiers:

After last CTF cup on ESH that was played as 5v5, it's decided to give chance to 4v4 CTF as well. Signups for ESH Quake Live ONW #12: CTF 4v4 are accepted.

Since with last cup we had a lot of delays for the final match, this cup will be played as Single elimination Bo1, with only semifinals and finals being Bo3. Compete schedule is in this thread.

MLG Removes WoW From Dallas Finals (4 comments)

On Monday, GameAche.com reported based on several conversations with Major League Gaming staff that they would be dropping World of Warcraft from their PC Circuit starting in

Dallas and it would not come back next season. This however was contradicted by several MLG representatives on other websites. Major League Gaming has come out to explain the situation with the game and have stated that patch issues are forcing them to postpone the National Finals which they “fully intend to finish out”.

Lee Chen, the Senior Vice President at MLG said the following:

As I posted on TeamLiquid.net, WoW is NOT at the finals because Blizzard’s efforts to get Cataclym launched have definitively broken Arenas. Not only is the Arena Queue master not spawned, but Blizzard removed him/it from the game because Arenas are not spawning under the 4.0.0.1 patch. On launch of Cataclym, Arenas will not be working at all. For the normal game development cycle at Blizzard, this isn’t a concern. But it obviously has ramifications for those of us who run competitions and tournaments around World of Warcraft.

QUAD Gaming is proud to unveil the next series of QUAKE LIVE events! This time the backdrop will be quite different as 2v2 TDM has been selected as the official game type.

EU tournaments will feature a prize pot of $500 in total. And is played on October 22nd-24th. The cup requires 6 team minimum signups.

The 2v2 TDM map pool is as follows

Along with the invites the map were also made official. A slight change from the previous big tournaments and since the maps were tweaked and a few was added.

Another pleasant surprise is that Level Up Tv will be the official streaming partner for Dreamhack Winter 2010.
Level Up will send a team of experienced shoutcasters and broadcasters to Dreamhack to provide on site coverage. We at Dreamhack thinks this is a major step in the right direction to get you the best Quake Live event ever!
More infos and schedule will be released at Level Ups site.
