Jerry "Lord Jerith" Prochazka has recently written an open letter to MLG regarding the financial structure and overall strategy of the company. He goes on to suggest things MLG could do to improve, as well issues that the league currently has.

There is a diabetes crisis in this country. Parents and teenagers that are overweight have dietary restrictions. Can you get a f***ing water sponsor? I don’t care what you have to do, but you secure some brand of water tomorrow. It should have been done yesterday.

I do, however, believe that organizations like vVv Gaming, Evil Geniuses and Complexity have had a history of passion, performance and understanding of the ever changing landscape known as competitive gaming, or dare I say eSports. You must bring brands like this on board and legitimize and evangelize those that add so much value in this space.

Still alive was about a one month project and was originally going to be a joint movie made by me & energy but for whatever reasons i ended up doing it alone. It's a community quakelive movie which as usual from me has slightly more ctf content than other movies, collected from the beautiful people of #qlpickup.eu. The movie has a fast soundtrack and a good mix of single shots and cap/quad runs. I really tried harder on editing than my previous movies and although it's still relatively 'simple' editing I think it's a noticeable improvement over my last 2 movies in terms of syncing & flow etc. I hope you will enjoy watching as much as i enjoyed making it!

Initially planned to start tonight, the Qualifiers for the seventh season of the ESL Major Series Quakelive TDM 4v4 are postponed to next week. So far, the top4 teams from the previous season are already qualified:

fnaticMSI,

4Kings,

iMmune and

notexec. All the other teams willing to take part have to qualify through one of the 4 qualifying cups by finishing in the top 3.

Blammo the company behind GameKings and Firstlook events just announced that Duke Nukem Forever will be present at the FirstLook Event. Which is held on 2 and 3 oct 2010 in the Westergas Fabriek Amsterdam.

We have asked

Jan Johan aka JJ the PR man behind Blammo, what we could expect. Would this be the PAX demo? Will we see a playable version? He gave us the typical response: "No Comment"

FirstLook won't only bring Duke Nukem, but we will also see KillZone 3, Dead Space 2, Dragon Age 2, Medal of Honor, Gran Turismo 5, Fallout New Vegas and many more major titles.

To promote the launch of their new website, LowLandLions will run a Quake Live TDM 2v2 Cup, hosted by

It will go live at Wednesday 8 September 2010 at 12:00 CDT (check-in 30min before). With a Single Elimination Play-off, with the teams playing matches in a best of one(bo1) format, until the quarter finals. The quarter finals till finals will be played in a best of three format.

Next Sunday we will kick off with a new season of our Amateur Series for the Benelux players! The Amateur Series is the first step towards the ESL Professional Series! In the EPS, the best duelers play for some desirable prizes. If you have what it takes to belong to the best or you just want to have some fun, do not hesitate to sign up! This season will be a short one, so taking part in it will bring you one step closer towards EPS Benelux Season 5 within no time!

A new EAS division 1, will take place with the following players.

The winner of EAS div1 will get a spot into EPS, while top 2-5 will fight for a spot vs the top 5-8 from EPS Benelux for the last remaining two spots

Clanbase Fall 2010 season announced (310 comments)

ClanBase has announced cups for the Fall 2010 season. It will feature cups in 25 different games including Quake Live and Stacraft 2. This season's QL EuroCup will use TDM as it's main gametype.

Additional info about the requirements for the cup (specifically regarding Premium/Pro accounts) can be found below. Rules will be published just before the first matchweek and will include this info as well.

Of course, if anyone feels like helping with the cups, either writing match reports or being a referee, can do that by applying as Cup Admin, so we can together ensure that coverage of the upcoming cups are on the highest level possible. Admin signup links below.

Update: Dreadful Place will replace Leviathan in the TDM mappool for this season of both CB EuroCup and OpenCup, due to the community`s request.
Signups are accepted until the end of this week.

There hasn't been much noise around

War§ow lately outside of our own community. We have been quietly working on the next major release (0.55), preparing some nice new features and improving on War§ow's style. A quick refresher for those who don't know: War§ow is (still) a free and fastpaced cel-shaded cartoony FPS, inspired by a mix of classics such as QuakeWorld, CPM and Jetset Radio.

In the area of visuals, textures, maps, sounds and models plenty has been improved and/or updated. Weapons have been revamped, the HUD has seen some updates. War§ow will feature a real soundtrack, and some of the game announcers have been re-done. The engine has seen many improvements over the past months as well.

Anyway, this message is nothing more than a small sneak peak of what we've been working on. War§ow's development team has not been sitting still. Hope to see you soon!
