Beginning at 18:00 CET July 9th, G4TV.com, will offer unprecedented access to the EVO 2010 world championships with 45 hours of non-stop live streaming coverage. The exclusive stream will feature tournament matches between top players, with live crowd audio accompanied by expert commentary to explain all the onscreen action. This streaming event will run from the start of the tournament on July 9th through the finals on July 11th.

Streamed coverage will broadcast matches featuring the world's top players flying in from 20 countries, including Japan's Daigo Umehara, EVO 2009 World Champion, as well as special guest "Super Street Fighter IV" producer Yoshinori Ono and "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" producer Ryota Niitsuma.

ESH QL: Amateur Cup (55 comments)

After 4 qualifiers we had last few weeks, the big finals are here where best 4 players from each qualifier will fight for the title of the Best QL Amateur Player and some prizes on top of it.

Cup is called Quake Live: Amateur Cup and will be played Thursday 13:00 CDT, 8 July 2010. Format of the cup will be Single elimination Bo3 with finals being Bo5.

Since there has been some problems with fake-nicking in the Amateur Night #3, Russia dazator will not be allowed to play and his spot will be given to Slovakia MatoD, player who managed to be in the quarter-finals in both 3rd and 4th qualifier cups. Complete players list can be found on this link.

It's still not very clear what prizes the Open Cup #1 will feature, or what influence it will have for the qualification process to the Playoffs. After very intense and successful tournaments in Call of Duty 4 and Counter Strike 1.6, it is time to move on to the ql Quake Live qualifiers. We will host four Quake Live qualification tournaments where the top 4 from each qualifier will advance to our online finals to meet with 16 invited players, making it a total of 32 European players.

Update: Qualifier #2 was postponed again.

The House of Quake - HoQLeagues Clan Arena 2v2 & 1v1 DUEL Leagues Finals are tomorrow night (Thursday 8th July) with a live stream courtesy of levelupyourgame.net

First will be the CA 2v2 Semi Finals at 13:00 CDT, 8 July 2010 and then the Final to follow straight after, estimating 15:00 CDT, 8 July 2010. With the DUEL Final hopefully following straight after.

A few days after the ESL announced the National ESL league for North America, more informations were released about the main Quakelive event brought by ESL to the new world: the IEM5 American Championships.

The Regular Season will be played through 4 online qualifiers cups and The Big Bang 2010 LAN event. Also, 7 Online ESL Open Cups will be run for additional points and prizes. After that, United States of America DaHanG, the current American champion, and 15 qualified players will participate to the Playoffs during 4-5th September. And Finally, the Finals will be played with the best 8 players from the Playoffs in October in United States of America New York City.

Hopefully, something clearer will be published about the qualifiers and how exactly the slots will be given. Until then, here is a detailed schedule of the coming cups, qualifiers and events.

The National ESL was announced just a day ago, and today more information is coming out on its spotlight event, the Intel Extreme Masters American Championships, with its finals being held in New York City.

From the website:

The IEM American Championship Regular Season will be your starting point, with several Cups and a LAN event at the International Video Games Hall Of Fame. Once the Regular Season has been completed, 15 of the top QuakeLive duelers will have been qualified for the American Championship Playoffs. This 2 day “World Cup” style event leads directly to the IEM American Championship Finals in NYC, where a few of the the best N. American duelers will win spots in the ultimate event of them all, the IEM World Championship.

Following his latest victory, adding the ESWC Grand Finals title to his list of accomplishments, United States of America Shane "rapha" Hendrixson talked in a video interview to SK Gaming about his tournament play in Paris.

The American who is on an unbelievable streak of international victories talked about what that feeling is like, to be on that streak and to add another title to it. Looking to the future he also discussed his desire to win Quakecon and follow in the footsteps of ZeRo4 by winning multiple titles there.

rapha explained his thought processes in the finals against Poland av3k and how he came to lose his series against Italy Stermy in the second group stage.

The eswc ESWC Finals 2010 will take place from Thursday to Sunday at the New Port Bay hotel in France Disneyland Paris. The grand final will be played, just like all the other finals, on a main stage in a big chapiteau. Match in Best-of-three maps as the ESWC rule say.

Recently United States of America rapha won american EG Masters Cup and Poland av3k won swedish DreamHack Summer. av3k and rapha are both very strong players, the first fight in this tournament between them won rapha (group stage 2/group A). Who will be winning this time?

Clanbase EC QL Duel Spring 2010 is coming to an end with LB Finals being played at 14:00 CDT, 4 July 2010 (tonight) between Germany smoke and Sweden madix. Winner of this match will play in Grand Finals with Netherlands Sc00T in the next week (the exact date yet to be announced).

ESL has just announced that it will be expanding its operations into North America with a new league, The National ESL. Heading this league will be figureheads from various communities, including Trevor "Midway" Schmidt of Gotfrag fame, and John "Alien" Clark and Steve "Xterm" Devaney, two veteran League administrators.

According to the press release, the "National ESL’s new website will go live on July 5th with the release of Intel Extreme Master’s North American Qualification information including its North American LAN Finals and prize money."
