The 37th ZOTAC QL Duel Cup will be played this Sunday. As usual it will consist of SE brackets using the bo1 format until the quarter finals. Then the games will be played as bo3 with the exception of the Final being played as bo5. The prize still is 100€ for 1st place!

The DreamHack Summer 2010 is taking place this weekend in

Jönköping. This big LAN event will host the first big international Quakelive tournament of the summer with the Kaspersky QUAKE LIVE Championships. The competition will be played through a Group stage of 4 groups (bo3) and a Direct Elimination Bracket (bo5) starting with Quarter-finals.

A few streams will be available to follow the Quakelive matches on LevelupTV (HQ + LQ) or even on

GameSports.de. Also

James "2GD" Harding will team up with LevelupTV to bring live commentaries for some Quake matches and interviews with the players!

The healer joins me again for a little chat about the past year and what he expects out of the upcoming Devastation, ESWC and QuakeCon tournaments. He also gives us a little incite into what it's like to square off against players like cooller and DaHanG, and BE FAVORED. Scary. Alexey "Cypher" Yanushevsky began his trip to DreamHack Summer 2010 this Wednesday, when he departed from Minsk in a train to Warsaw, where he was picked up by his friend and clanmate,

Maciej "av3k" Krzykowski. During Cypher's short stay in the Polish capital city, we filmed an interview in which he discuses a number of things, such as his attitude towards Quake Live, the e-sports scene in Belarus, as well as his expectations of the upcoming DreamHack and ESWC tournaments. IVGHOF Bootcamp and Tourney Announced (17 comments)

Just today, the organizers of the International Video Games Hall Of Fame event, happening this August, announced that they will be including QuakeLive in its lineup of tournaments. In addition, they also mentioned that the tournament servers will be on LAN. Though the specific rules and map list of the tournament have yet to be announced as of posting, some of the top duelers in North America have already showed interest in attending.

Also, they announced that they will be holding a bootcamp for the veteran players, as the event falls just a week before QuakeCon. Check out the link below for more information about the event and to signup for the tournament.

Sebastian "Spart1e" Siira will participate at the Quake Live tournament of DreamHack Summer this weekend. It will be his first offline event since he went inactive after a disappointing result at the Intel Extreme Masters European Finals in the beginning of 2010.

fragster spoke with the Swede about the upcoming tournaments, the future of his gaming career and of course about the Spart1e-Parties. Here is a snippet:

Who do you fear most when it comes to DreamHack/ESWC?
Spart1e: Cypher. He really improved the most if you ask me.

What are your goals for the upcoming tournaments that summer?
Spart1e: My goal is try to attend all the tournaments. With QuakeCon being the only tournament I will be able to put in some real practice.

Finally the wait is over, the last two invites for the ArchaicMSI Quakecon Draft have been won by

Matthew "xcope" Leeroy and

Pablo "Pablo" Godinez

The tournament has been all the talk for the Oceanic community for the past 4 weeks and everybody is excited to see the final 12 players one of which will be representing us overseas at Quakecon 2010. Unfortunately

Andrew "Python" Chacha is not as interested as he once was to compete international and has nobly stepped aside for a new player to be birthed from this tournament.

We still wait hopeful the Australian servers will get back online in time despite promises of a 48 hour fix. Who knows what the future will hold for our Western and Southern players in the competition, unfortunately the show must go on...

Two days ago ClanBase announced Summer Cup 2010 Season, which will have 22 cups spanning over 12 games, including CoD, UT, UT2k4, Trackmania, Quake 3, Enemy territory and several others as well as Quake Live.

Quake Live will consist of Duel and 2v2 cups:
