Last year, we were able to watch first year when Quake Nations Cup competitions and winning nations found themselves on NO HUNTING SiGN Trophy. Right now, there is list of 3 best countries in every game of last season.
When all Quake competitions will finish this year, we will change current list of countries on NO HUNTING sign by metal plaquette for each game with basic lineup of Nations Cup winners and second set of lists for this year winners will be added.
I hope, that one day, you will see my point of creating NO HUNTING SiGN as a Trophy for Quake Nations Cup

Quake World competition will probably start during February.

Quake 2 NDML 9 has opened its gate and you are free to sign up your national team. All info needed can be found here at NDML Official Page.
First round of Basic Groups will be starting on 26th January.
There are already Poland, Spain and UK National Team in the game and, as usual, really strong admin team: wision, Gravgon and __d34d.

Quake 3 competition's already began with the first round of Basic Groups, you can check out all the upcoming matches right here.

We are also opening Sign Ups for Quake 4 TDM and Quake Live TDM competitions.

The deadline to sign up is the 11th of January. The captains of each team have to send registration email to czechquake@gmail.com in following way:

You are free to send me your own national banners in PNG or JPG with width 490 and height up to 123px.

The Quake Nations Cup Q3 TDM is about to kick off tomorrow with its first match. With 4 groups of 5 teams, you can then expect 8 matches per week during 6 weeks. Here is the schedule for the first (note that dates are subject to change):

- Thursday 13:00 CST - Russia / Austria
- Sunday 13:00 CST - Netherlands / Spain (forced) & Belarussia / Slovenia (forced)

Belgium already used wildcard for their first match againt Serbia. About Poland, Sweden, France and United Kingdom, they will play their first match during Week 2 since the groups are made of 5 teams each.

German eSport site www.fragster.de talked with Kevin "strenx" Baeza after his last Dreamhack attendance, where he surprisingly placed second behind the polish power house Maciej "av3k" Krzykowski after defeating team mate Sebastian "Spart1e" Siira with a solid RG of about 45 % and his uproar with a devastating shaft of 40,75 % on Magnus "Fox" Olsson.

But who is this young 17 year old guy who comes from Angers in France? fragster was asking:

Are you pursuing a certain goal, which you want to achieve? Have you got an idol? (Maybe St_Germain?)

strenx: I’m just playing for fun *laughs*, but of course I'm trying my best. My idol was fox when I was younger and I can't say he isn't it anymore. Actually I really played with St_Germain from time to time when I was very very young *laughs*.

Magnus "fox" Olsson was one of the most famous quakers attending this DreamHack Winter 2008. He managed to achieve the biggest combined prize money in the Quake Forever tournaments with the 3rd rank in VQ3 and the 1st in CPM, earning him a total of 1 050€ and 575€ worth of products.

After his games, he found some minutes to answer my questions.

Now that I got the pictures out, I might as well write about my personal experience at the event. Timeline might be a bit off but you easily lose track of time and what is going on at Dreamhack. So I'll just try to remember what happened when. It ended up being a bit too long and about all sorts of random crap so be warned.

My and lisk's trip to dreamhack winter 2008

Here's my share of pictures from the Dreamhack Winter 2008 event in Jönköping, Sweden. Unfortunately it was fairly dark at all times and my camera is rather crap (Fujifilm Finepix J50) but hopefully you can get a bit of an impression from the event regardless.

Thanks to all the people who made these 4 days such an awesome experience, in particular our great admins blaze and Dronar, and the CPM gangsters including fox.
