With QuakeCon 2009 behind us, we can get back to our normal every day routines of viewing some of the best online QUAKE LIVE action. In an effort to make this happen why not kick off with the National Gaming League CA finals and the Online Sports Entertainment CTF finals. All of this happening on a jam packed Thursday, September 3rd.

With a bit of a delay in the final stages of the NGL Clan Arena tournament due to QuakeCon, we are finally going to see the result to the NGL Clan Arena finals live. With two very talented teams fighting for the top spot, it is bound to be a match that will wow each and every viewer. Fires of Judaism is one of the top clans in Quake Live due to their domination of just about every single mod. But let’s not forget about Focus 27 and their stacked lineup. With ben running the show, backed by carnage, wn, and wreck, it's bound to be an amazing outing of skill and determination.

eMG vs EG | OSE CTF Finals | Thursday, September 3 at 10:30pm EDT
With Team EG coming off of an amazing winning performance at this year’s QuakeCon, they're looking to seek revenge against eMg who got the better of them in the NGL CTF finals. These two teams, being no strangers to CTF, will certainly come out guns blazing. eMg, looking to deny EG of another finals win, will certainly need to bring their A-game in order to do so. There is no doubt that this will be one of the most intense CTF matches that QL.TV will have the privilege of covering. So grab your popcorn and pop-a-squat because you're in for a treat!

After about a week after the release of Warsow 0.5 the tourney admin

Uz, arranges the first team based cup! Uz is the admin for Bolted, a Warsow tourney site that's been hosting a lot of different competitions over the years. Their aim has been mainly duel cups, but after the huge success with implementing "Bomb and Defuse" mode in Warsow he decided to give it a go.

Bomb and Defuse is a round based mode where one team has to defend two different bomb sites from the attacking team. The attacking has to plant a bomb which will destroy one of these bomb sites. This cup will be played over one day only, so it's a good opportunity to give the game a try!

I've got here for you a new DeFRaG movie. As usual it's a single DeFRaG movie starring Czech skilled vq3 player Ex1tuS. I made it exactly how I like it - fast DnB, lots of first person cameras and a interesting color filter. There are some demos with world records but I was going mainly for the audio video synchronization and I think that the result is OK. This time there is only one version available - 720p with 11125 kbps. I hope you will enjoy this movie and that you will spread it among your friends.

At QuakeCon we announced a number of new and exclusive awards that we'd be offering to attendees related to their participation in the event. We're very happy to be awarding those with the update today.

For these, and other very special awards, we've created a new awards category called the "Trophy Case." Your trophy case will contain one time only awards that highlight participation or excellence in a designated QUAKE LIVE event, contest, or competition. The first awards in the Trophy Case will be related to QuakeCon 2009, but we will continue to designate other special events, competitions, and unique personal contributions to the QUAKE LIVE community for Trophy Case awards. Congratulations to everyone receiving a QuakeCon 2009 award.

Also for QuakeCon fans, we've added 2 event leaderboards - a QuakeCon 2009 BYOC leaderboard, and a QuakeCon 2009 Tournament leaderboard. To check out who did all the damage at QuakeCon, simply click the links or you can always click Leaders, then click the customize button and select "QuakeCon 2009 BYOC" or "QuakeCon 2009 Tournaments" from the "Timeframe" menu. Remember, you don't need a QUAKE LIVE account to check out the leaderboards, so if you're at the top and want to let someone know how much you R4WK - just send them the link.

- Added cg_deadBodyDarken <0|1> (default = 0) Toggling this cvar on will darken "bright" players as soon as they become corpses.

- Added cg_deadBodyColor <0xRRGGBBFF> (default = 0x101010FF) Altering this cvar allows you to customize the color applied to dead bright bodies when cg_deadBodyDarken is enabled.
- Changed shotgun pattern to use 20 pellets in a diffused 3 ring pattern, each dealing 5 damage for a total of 100 damage.
- Added cg_smokeRadius_NG <0-16> (default = 16) Lowering the value of this cvar will scale the radius of the smoke puffs drawn in the nailgun trails. A value of 0 will entirely disable the smoke trails.
- Added cg_bubbleTrail <0|1> (default = 1) Toggling this cvar off disables the underwater bubble trails drawn behind many bullets and projectiles while underwater.
- Removed cg_noProjectileTrails due to the addition of the cg_smokeRadius_NG and cg_bubbleTrails.
- Added cg_waterWarp <0|1> (default = 1) Toggling this cvar off disables the minor under-water warping effected that exists when submerged underwater. The effect has little impact on gameplay but can be induce disorientation in some players.
- Added cg_zoomScaling <0|1> (default = 1) Toggling this cvar off disables the zooming in / zooming out scaling effect that is used as a transition between your cg_fov and cg_zoomfov; causing the +zoom to act as a quick snap to and from the zoomed fov.
- Added cg_zoomToggle <0|1> (default = 0) Toggling this cvar on alters the behavior of +zoom such that a single key press will enable zooming and a repeated keystroke disables zooming, no longer requiring players to hold the key down while zooming.
- Added cg_zoomSensitivity <float> (default = 1) The value of this cvar is multiplied to our current zoom sensitivity, allowing the user to increase or decrease their sensitivity while zoomed. A value of 0 will revert the zoomSensitivity code to the Q3 legacy code that was previously available in QuakeLive.
- Added cg_drawFragMessages <0|1> (default = 1) Toggling this cvar off disables the "You Fragged So-and-So" centerprint message from drawing on your screen. The shorthand obituary will still print to the HUD to make note of any kills.
- Added cg_buzzerSound <0|1> (default = 1) Toggling this cvar off disables the end-game buzzer sound in all gametypes.
- Changed cg_allowTaunt <0|1> (default = 1) to now also disable gesture events clientside in addition to disabling Team Arena style VO taunts when this cvar is disabled.
- Added cg_lightningStyle <1|2|3|4> (default = 1) Altering this cvar will cycle through various lightning stream effects: Default Q3/QL, QuakeWorld inspired, Team Arena shaft, and thin shaft options.
- Renamed cg_oldRail <0|1> (default = 1) to cg_railStyle <1|2> (default = 1). The new naming structure fits in line with the cg_lightningStyle and the old convention made little sense, as the reference "old" is lost between iterations of the game.

The Czech guys from Czech Quake and Grunex announced tonight that the QuakeLive tournament they will hold in

Prague at the beginning of September will see its TDM cup replaced with a Duel cup. The LAN itself is still supposed to take place at the Battle Zone café on the 12th of September!

The prizes are up to a total of 500€ in cash and tickets for Aqua Palace and Kart Areal, but the organizers are still working on rising this number if the sign-ups are going well. So far, 64 slots are planned for the tournament which should be run through a group stage and a double brackets with bo3 matches. The maplist used should be the same as QuakeCon'09.

Fragster: If I'm right the fifth map would have been dm6. A map which you lost to spart1e at QuakeCon. Do you think that you would have been able to take it against noctis?
rapha: [...] noctis is a very good dm6-player, very unique style. Nobody else plays it like him and I think it would have been a very tight game. It would have come down to who handles their nerves the best, I think.

It's been a while since

Fragster.de had their last fan special with a Quake player. Back then the people could ask no one else than

Marcel "k1llsen" Paul whatever they wanted to know. Now you got the chance to do the same with the Swedish quake player

Sebastian "Spart1e" Siira, who recently joined the fnatic organization.

iNcontroL, the WCG USA 2007 champion and

Iefnaij, the 2008 champion after his performance in TSL and other online tournaments will battle against

Suny[gm] and

NsP_Fancy, two Terran players from the eSTRO pro team in two separate 1vs1 matches on the same day.

Iefnaij will take on Suny in a best of three on Heartbreak Ridge, Outsider, and Destination, while iNcontroL will be facing Fancy in a best of three on Destination, Colosseum 2, and Heartbreak Ridge.

Ret has been on vacation and just recently left to BlizzCon, he’ll return to his show matches after he arrives back in his home country.

Czech Quake are back with some more Sunday action and the two following

Quake Live tournaments for you:

- Duel Cup #4 is dedicated to all European Players, and players from CZ/SK who already got their "License" and are therefore banned from Open Tournaments.

- Czech Quake Open is the tournament that allows Czech and Slovakian players to get a License. The License allows them to join Czech Quake Pro League which will provide a total of 500€ cash prize. Winner will take 250€, second 175€ and third 75€.

Earlier this month, the eSTRO pro gaming team welcomed a new face to their home, it was none other than

Qoo)Max, the once most dominant and feared 2vs2 player alongside his teammate

FanTastic_NamoO, back when the Pro League still offered 2vs2 in the lineup.

With his favorite style of competing being taken away, his former teammate leaving to the military, and his itch to take on another task in eSports, Max spoke with the eSTRO coaching staff and eventually joined their ranks and now completes the three man lineup.

Not mainly known as a 1vs1 player, Max did display his skill to the eSTRO B team when he first entered the house, as he beat many of them. He states that "the skill level within his new team house is very high, and he see’s a lot of potential in the young gamers, and he will do his best to help them excel even further in the upcoming Pro League season as well as the single leagues".

A video interview with Max will be conducted in upcoming weeks, and we’ll get his feedback about many things relating to the eSTRO team.

ClanBase announced their 20th season with the incoming EC/OC Fall 2009 Cup season. This time 5 EuroCups and 55 OpenCups over a total of 24 games (including QuakeLive and the soon-to-be-released Wolfenstein) are planned:
