After various tournaments for the American quakelive crowd, GGL decided to run a team deathmatch competition on European servers. The cup will feature a single elimination bracket consisting of 16 teams which will fight each other in best-of-3 matches. Most maps will sound familiar to former quake 3 tdm players as GGL opted to go with dm6, dm7, dm12, dm14 and tourney7.

All slots are already taken so we can expect the tournament to start soon. Noticeable signups include

After

zy0tic and his Slovak community movie, it's now

zeroql's turn to grant us with his new movie from the Serbian Quake 3 community.

It's called Quake Overdose 2 Quadrilogy and runs for a bit less than 10 minutes. Frags were all made in DM and TDM while the editing is quite classic.

Here are a few notes from the author

Quake Overdose 2 Quadrilogy is the first HD Serbian Quake community video. I started this project about 2 months ago. The idea was to make a frag movie with the most active Serbian quake players. The inspiration for this project mostly came from my friend C3LLUX who made "PLACEBO 2", which is one of the best and funniest quake movies i have seen.

I've put in plenty of hard work to collect the demos and pick the frags, this task alone took me about one month to complete because Serbian players are becoming more inactive or being lazyassez! I picked most of my frags from tournaments between 2002 and 2008. The frags that were picked are what I consider to be legendary frags by Serbian players that I wish to share with you 8). I made this movie with the help of my very good friend Mr. Predrag (a.k.a sch4).

I appreciate and thank sch4 for all the hard work he has put into this project. He took half of all the demos and watched them day and night burning the midnight oil until his eyes started to bleed .. and then some. All in the quest of finding and supplying you with great frags. He also did a wonderful job putting in a nice After effect logo for the intro and the autorun feature for the movie.

This movie features a couple of international players such as, XGO, EVIILI and Anak1n. As most of you already know Anak1n is from the great clan EYEBALLERS. He's a Swedish player who is Serbian by blood. XGO and EVIILI are Serbians as well but they live in Slovenia. There are a lot of old school players in this movie so you will see some old goldies and sick frags at the back of your optic nerves!

Legie started the Euro Open Cup on Quake 3, I have decided to launch two more games under this name.

Czech Quake is going to hold both

Quake 4 and

Quake Live cups.

The deadline for registration is Sunday, 19th of October 2008 and you are free to sign up on czechquake@gmail.com (Example: Euro Open Cup - Quake 4, Pavel "Hawr1x" Kymla, CZ). The rules are quite basic: You must be present on the official channel of the tourney, you should be in contact with your opponents to schedule your games and of course, you can't cheat.

After a three month summer break the folks from European Quake League are ready to run another season of their popular quakeworld league. Unlike EQL 7 the upcoming season will only feature 4v4 action, so get organized and signup. There are lots of teams signed up already and hopefully a few more will follow!

For those of you with little qw experience or no teammates there is a teambuilding initiative to make sure nobody will be left out. As usual you can follow the league's progress on Quakeworld.nu and the official EQL page.

Global Gaming has recently announced a Soul Calibur 4 Xbox 360 Tournament. Registration has already begun. The prize is a paid round trip to Los Angeles where the top 4 players (two from each bracket) will play in a LIVE showdown which will air on G4's X-Play television program.
All you have to do is head on over to GGL, sign up and start kicking some butt!!

Google has announced its venture into game-based advertising via its official blog.

The games that they’re targeting happen to be web-based games like the ones playable on InstantAction, and "social games" like Google’s own Lively. Even the venerated Quake Live would fall under the definition of a "web game".

GGL Wire has reviewed the new Razer Salmosa, a 3G infrared mouse capable of achieving 1800 DPI @ 1000Hz.

While Razer's mice receieved a mixed reception over the years, the symmetrical, small and light Salmosa may be just the thing for the hardcore gaming crowd.

Here's an excerpt:

Perhaps the most important part of the underside is that the infrared sensor is almost perfectly centered. It’s not off to an angle (which is what typically happens with small mice that have customizable weights), or skewed to the front or back. This leads to perfect handling in FPS games.

BODZO are the names of the Oktoberfest 2008 winners!

On Sunday, we managed with JohnNy_cz, wision, Legie, Shebin and eJo to prepare some really special action for you, Quakers.

The BERNARD OKTOBERFEST was a huge tournament with all five Quake series games in it. Right now, we have our winners and owners of the Beer Kegs from Bernard and Beer Glasses. On the Beer Glasses, which will be made by the end of this week, will be the Quake logo of each game, the name of winner and also a serial number. We are starting this new tradition and this competition will be held every year.

QuakeWorld tournament brought together, Reppie and

Bulat. The Dutch player was better at the end and you should feel free to check the demos and enjoy some decent QW!

Quake 2 tournament was changed from Single to Double elimination and Damiah faced

PURRI in the grandfinals. Demos from this game are available at the DemoSquad!

Quake 3 tournament was the largest tourney of the Oktoberfest. SombrA and

HACK were fighting for our prizes. The Spanish player was better and he definitely deserved a keg of cerveza. Demos are ready here.

Quake 4 drift course was held by nite and

abso. A 5th map had to decide the amazing games shown by both players and you should definitely check out nite's demopackage.

Quake Live was the last game of our tourney and it was one of the first prized tournaments. We tested this web browser game to the bone and Bodzo with

Weird were the last men standing in the Single Elimination brackets.

I would like to thank you all for coming, I hope you had fun and congratulations to our winners. We can't forget our main partner of this tourney, Bernard brewery and I can definitely promise you, that this wasn't the last beer in the

Czech Quake tournaments!

ClanBase left out the OpenCup in Q3 TDM because of a lack of admins, i`m pleased to announce the new season of kuh3liga. TDM & CTF players can finally realize their taste in 5 leagues that are divided in separate skill divisions.
